Dream & Goal Setting
Upon enrollment in the program, students will establish clear dreams, goals, and pathways to achieving them. Students will complete charts/posters/worksheets to define their dreams and subsequent goals with clarity. Students will reassess their dreams and goals multiple times throughout each school year and will research the most appropriate and efficient ways of achieving those goals. (Workshops/Activities up to twice a month; however, Dreams are a constant undercurrent throughout mentoring meetings).
Employment Readiness
Students will learn to be employment-ready as they develop more self-sufficiency in resume/cover letter development, work ethic expectations, and professionalism. Students will participate in employment readiness workshops and create their resume, cover letter, and reference list. Students will prepare for interviews and discuss what it means to be a responsible employee. Students will also be trained in deftly maneuvering through different social situations so that they will feel comfortable regardless of the company that they may find themselves in.
“Undiscovered” Activities
Experts in various artistic/athletic professions will be brought in to provide our students with exposure to activities that may have been previously “unconsidered” by them as viable outlets. Our foundation was designed to expose students to drama, fencing, tennis, jazz, and golf. Students will discover their newfound interests through the program monthly and then be given the option to participate in offshoots of the activity at varying times throughout the month. Not only will these activities provide exposure to different athletic/artistic outlets, but they will also provide our students experience at excelling in different settings and amongst different cultural milieu.
Mentorship Spotlight
In addition to developing meaningful mentor-student relationships that are structured and planned, we will feature a Mentor in our monthly Mentor Spotlight. Every month the students will hear from a successful Inspirational Leader. Each Inspiration Leader is unique and will share their personal pathway to success with the program’s students. Students will complete a tailor-made workshop with the mentor following their group talk to thoroughly examine and identify the specific choices and pathways that made them successful.
Financial Literacy
Our comprehensive program will provide students with financial literacy training to ensure they understand personal finances and fiscal responsibility. Students will learn everything from opening personal checking accounts to wise vs. risky personal investments.
